Scott Collins is the Managing Director and co-founder of GSD WA, a family-owned industrial services and waste management business based in Karratha.
He brings more than 25 years of heavy industrial services experience, including 17 years working in the Pilbara.
Scott began his industrial services career on the tools, operating heavy industrial vacuum trucks. That background gives him first-hand knowledge of the equipment and the conditions crews face in the field.
His career spans the oil and gas, mining, water and energy sectors, with experience across onshore and offshore operations. In the Pilbara, his work has included industrial service delivery and emergency response in remote and demanding environments.
Scott and his son Darcey founded GSD WA in 2023. The business brings together industrial experience, specialist equipment and local capability to support mining, oil and gas, marine, civil and government operations.
Scott’s background in vacuum extraction informs his approach to equipment selection. In published interviews, he discusses wet and dry recovery, equipment versatility and the importance of supplier support when working in remote locations.
Australian Mining has reported on GSD’s extraction of dense iron ore through a 135-metre hose run. Scott’s comments explain the connection between equipment performance, shutdown schedules and dependable support for the crew.
His published perspective centres on matching equipment to the work and keeping operators familiar with the machines they use.
GSD’s published case studies document the work delivered by its team across mining and remote emergency response.
